![]() ![]() ![]() Got windows installed, updated, drivers etc.pretty much got what I needed as essentials running.then just before, it happened again. A dodgy cable? Well I felt good as this was certainly progress.however. This time, BIOS remained somewhat stable.and I managed to install windows.Īh ha!. Hmm.I thought. Is the SSD dishing out some strange vibes to the components and the system just wants to power down as if in a perpetual sleep mode? Is that even possible.? I went into BIOS and sure enough, left it for about twenty minutes and no random shut down. I then decided to disconnect the SATA cable from the Samsung 830. This, however, wouldn't get much past the installtion of the files where it would shut down, probably a silly idea considering even in BIOS the shutdowns occured but I considered the possibility of strange going on with SSD as I've heard them to happen before with other people. I then did a backup of everything and decided to remove the OS and reinstall, under the vague impression that wiping the drive and starting again just might work. Never any BSOD still at this point, however on one failed boot I got a BSOD but didn't note the error. In windows, which slowly became harder to stay in more than a minute, it would do the same thing. In BIOS it would shut down after a given amount of time, quite random. I then removed all sata cables from all other HDDs and kept the SSD connected. I did a windows mem check with the F8 startup option if I remember right but should do another using memtest as I only left it on for 2 mins as I was more of the opinion that is was PSU/SSD weirdness I was getting. By the way all temps were fine beforehand checking with RealTemp and EVGA Precision X. I took the case side off, checked all fans. This happened a few times sometimes, back up n running and then same old.Once or twice it started really acting up and not even booting past BIOS. Today I used it for about half an hour after wondering if it would do something weird and sure enough, a game I was playing closed to desktop, and the system went through a typical shut down. I shut it down manually, got back to bed and it happened again.Got back up, start button>shut down.then when it happened a third time I turned the switch off at the mains. It happened last night, although in the opposite manner, where the system decided to boot up on its own just as I got ready for bed after a few drinks on the town. PC is shutting down, as in a normal shut down/close programs etc without me wanting it to.
